We've been trying to get down to this spot for awhile after seeing the ads on IG. We finally made it on a Friday evening and surprising there was no wait. Walking through the dining room to our table (after being greeted by a very nice hostess) we say a couple groups of ppl with lobster bibs and gloves on. This was a good sign and we could not wait to order.

The menu is straight forward and broken down in a simple format for the boils. You pick the seafood you want (crabs and lobster are served by the pound at market prices), the seasoning (I recommend the garlic butter with a little lemon pepper thrown in, trust me) and then choose your spice level (we went with mild as it was our first go).

The food came quick and all the tools needed were provided by our very laid back waiter Tony (he's so chill but he was on point the whole time). Everything in the boil comes in a steamer bag that you cut open. We split a boil with crab legs (2lbs), lobster tails (2lbs) and we doubled up on the corn on the cob. As tradition it came with potatoes and sausages. Everything was yummy (well the hush puppies we ordered were meh but the seafood made up for them) especially smothered and dipped in the garlic/lemon pepper butter. Glad we split the boil b/c it was a lot of food and leftover boil does not reheat well.

Looking forward to coming back and trying some other items like the shrimp and mussels.

Who has two thumbs and drove 30mins for crawfish....this Lady that's who....and I was not disappointed. I even ordered a 2nd order since it was so good.

During my 2nd order I order side items, like sausage and corn etc.only to find out from my server that I didnt need to order them as they automatically come with the crawfish. I said wait my first order had only crawfish, a few potatoes and no corn. Since I didn't get the full meal she made sure I for extra on my second order.

She turned what could've been a bad review into a good one and a reason to deny 30 minutes to have crawfish again.

Let me preface this review by saying that I've really wanted to visit Fiery Crab long before now. In my 'foodie' experience, rather than rush out to 'Soft' or 'Grand' openings, it's always best to let a new, popular eatery settle fully into its operational groove as much as it can, getting as many of its operational kinks worked out in the kitchen and front of house as possible, which is where I think a lot of the very critical reviews that I've seen of Fiery Crab in the past have come from, but I digress. On to what you came here to read...the review!

Today was my first official visit to the Fiery Crab, opting to visit during lunch hours, as I wanted my experience to be as pure and relaxing as possible. The eatery is very spacious with a sprawling assortment of table sizes and booths to easily accommodate parties of any size. The decor is very nice, subtle and relaxing, with table furnishings placed neatly and easily accessible.

Service was very prompt and courteous. My waitress, given I was visiting during lunch hours, promptly informed me of their new low country boil lunch special menu options. I quickly decided to take advantage, opting to go with Snow Crab Legs, Potatoes, Sausage and Corn on the Cob, tossed in the Medium Fiery Crab house sauce blend, all of which is prepared in a traditional low country boil style. I also opted to purchase additional sides of Coleslaw and Cajun Fries to accompany. What I received was truly wonderful! Everything, and I do mean everything, was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. I really appreciated that the boil was not over seasoned nor under seasoned, but just enough to provide a proper coating of flavor. The Medium Fiery Crab Sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and heat, with accents of butter and garlic, which was absolutely delicious! The sides were also on point as well and prepared and seasoned very nicely. The snow crab legs tasted very fresh, sweet and succulent as one would expect, and the corn, potatoes and sausage were perfectly cooked and flavorful in that wonderful sauce. Nothing was overdone nor underdone. Everything was spot on!

I was even more impressed by the front of house manager who approached me during my meal, inquiring as to my thoughts on the lunch special, and how certain items were portioned and prepared. The manager noted they had received some concerns about how certain items had been portioned in the past, and was looking for honest feedback to provide the kitchen staff. I was very impressed by his professionalism and dedication to what was being presented on the plate. I was also impressed with the value. The low country boil items, drink and the two additional sides that I purchased off the menu, including tax, and minus tip, came to just under $20. For the quality and quantity that was received on my plate, I was very impressed with the value and did not walk away feeling hungry at all, and I'm a large guy at 6' 4" and nearly 300 pounds.

All in all, my experience was truly great, and I do plan on making this establishment a regular in my culinary rotation now. Everything was enjoyable to me, from the impressive neatness, cleanliness and attention to detail, all the way down to the awesome food that I received. And let me tell you this, it's been a long time since I've been in a restaurant bathroom of any kind that was this neat, clean and presentable.

All in all, kudos to you Fiery Crab, you've certainly gained a new loyal customer. Keep up the great work! You certainly made a good first impression with me!

I took my son to the fiery crab for his birthday. this is the old Whitehorse restaurant. I believe this was a good refurbish project and the fiery crab is a good seafood restaurant across from Winthrop University I hope that it will have great business in this location
